Despite having a negative rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film bearing the same name as Stephen King’s book, “Firestarter,” is among the top five most-watched movies on Netflix, starring Zac Efron.

The film is a remake of the 1984 version starring actress Drew Barrymore and was well received by audiences on the streaming platform.

The new version of the film from 2022 premiered in theaters and simultaneously on the Peacock platform, but it was not a box office or critical success, with only 11% approval on Rotten Tomatoes and only $15 million earned at the box office, according to LADbible.

The film tells the story of a couple trying to hide their daughter with pyrotechnic powers from a mysterious agency. “Firestarter” is available on Netflix.
